What they said. I also use glass in boats cuz I've had too many graphites broken.

Cost -- graphite are as cheap or even cheaper than a good glass rod so this isn't a factor.

Durability -- Glass rods will suffer more abuse w/out failure. I especially don't like the way a graphite pole can be damaged from a sharp blow w/out any visible signs of damage. Yep! You guessed it! Usually decides to fail when you've got a NICE fish on.

Sensitivity -- Graphite for the most part is more sensitive. But. If you have a good quality glass rod that you are familar with, i.e. lottsa hours fishin it, I don't think the difference is as great as most people make it out to be.

Two items that also come into play are rod weight and power. Graphite wins hands down in these two categories.
