Yep, but you have to use the right rod. I use an 1141c or a noodle rod. We also don't use more than 6 pound line for mainline. If you look hard enough, you can find a nice heavy hook, and thread the tube skirt on it. Silver thread is a nice line for air temps in the low teens. slap

I have always ordered the plain lead heads from Rainbow jigs, the stuffed them inside the tube skirt. Make sure the hooks are needle sharp with a hand file. wink

You have to remember that water temps are pushing right around 30 degrees with shelf ice, so the fish are pretty lethargic. On light gear they fight fairly well, but it's mostly head shaking, and rolling. You don't get very many jumpers when the water is that cold. sleep
