Hi GutZ,
Thanks for the information. I do have a question about not running under 7 boards. I assume that would refer to the river flow, but hadn't heard the term before, and don't know how to relate it to conditions. The Sol Duc isn't listed on any of the river flow sites that I know of, so if you or anyone else can point me to a url, that will give me this info, I would certainly appreciate it.
I also belive you are correct about hiring a guide, or someone that is familiar with the river, to make a first run to be safe.
Are there guides that do take one downriver just to run the river, and not fish? I would rather find my own fishing spots, instead of being shown them, so my interest would be in the safety aspect, rather than being quided for fishing.
Is there possibly someone that I might sit down over a cup of coffee, and discuss the spots one might have to look out for? You seem to have a bit of knowledge about the river, and I'd like to talk to ya some more about it.
Pickled Herring,
I would be more than happy to hook up with ya sometime. I discussed it with my fishing partner, and he agreed. There is safety in numbers. We're a couple of old fa^ts, so we are just out to have a good time. We aren't into the numbers game any longer, so we're no competition.
What's with the pickled herring handle? I've eating lot's of it, but I've got something I like even better. I just got done pickeling a 17# buck, I got off the Cowlitz. Man, that is good stuff.
Bob,
Great site, and great people that hang out here. Good to read the many posting here.
I may have more questions later.
Thanks,
Catarafter
