I was out on the Columbia again on Sunday, banking from Rainier city park across from Longview. I took both my father and my brother, and while we are beginning to become a danger to river shipping due to our casting distance, we didn't have so much as a bite. We used fresh smelt rigged to a slider with 4-8 oz. pyramid weights, but the sturgeon seemed disinterested.

My father and I went out on the Willamette the next day, just upstream of the Sellwood bridge in Portland. We tried pickled eel this time, but once again, not even a nibble.

How did everyone else do? confused
