Yes, you're going to catch them, most are actively feeding again and they're incredibly stupid and you almost can't catch them when they're around.

The spring steelhead fishery on the Kasilof fishery is stictly for spawners that held under the winter ice after entering in the fall and spawning in the spring. They're about the rattiest skiniest snakes you'll ever see. We don't fish it but get a lot of calls from folks looking to fish it ... and they seem to think we're nuts when we suggest leaving the spent fish alone. Funny when you consider almost no one in that area would consider killing one ...
