When I first saw that worm/hair combo in the pic of this thread I thought that was the goofiest looking thing I've ever seen. But it makes sense as far as keeping the tail up near the hook. I've also had good luck with those Berkely worms also cut off at the neck like that one but have never left the tip up like that.

And I don't really think I've had that many short biters. They usually whack 'em pretty good. Maybe I've missed a lot of takedown that I thought were rocks....wouldn't surprise me. I also like pink sluggos.
