ET,

If you're by yourself, your best bet will a spoon of some sort. I am not big on the 'Yotes because only one side glows... I like the Sonic Edge (42" of leader) and I put a ten degree downward bend in the forward part of the spoon.. If there will be two of you, rig the other rod with a B-2 Mini Squid on 35" of leader (50#).

The trick to fishing QMH is keeping your ball down along the contour inside the "mouth" of the harbor. 130-140' seems to be the magic depth right now, but experiment a little until you find the bait/fish. Rule of thumb at QMH will be fish shallower (100-130') if bait is not present at the depth I indicated. It is a tricky contour to follow, but picture a large arc... Easy's rule of 10 feet from the bottom will get you into the fish. I like 5-7 feet within the bottom.

Most of you fish will be caught on the North side of Neill Pt during the Ebb, but ocassionally the fish in more towards Piner Pt...

Let us know how you do!

Downriggin'
