it is good to see people stick up for cowlitzfisherman, I am glad to hear that he does so much to help out our fisheries and I am sure that I would have much in common with him. (sounds like not age though)
my point with the quote was not to say that americans are nazi's but to point out that we are being marketed to in the same manner. truley I am glad that there is such fervent debate over going to war and if people didnt get pissed off about this stuff and disect it and debate it, then we would not be thinking enough. I was pissed off that a fellow fisherman wrote "traitor" on my truck for my anti-war sticker. I was tired of the barage of sentiment lately that if you disagree with a pre-emtive attack on Iraq then you are pro-sadamm or too week to stand up for yourself or your country. would i really like to box an old man? of course not! my point was that if you want to attack someone, show that you have the intelligence to debate what you disagree with. If you cant do that than there are allways gentelmanly ways of allowing the less intelligent to compete. like boxing!!!! Boxing is not violence, it is the opposite, it is grace and balance. It can be a great way for people who disagree with each other to get it out. It also teaches that no matter how much poundin you put on the other person, you will not change their mind!!!!!. now many of you must be thinking ,what a hypocrite, why would you box someone if you know that you will not change their mind? well why are we gonna pound some iraqi ass this week if we will never change the peoples minds? If 9/11 taught us anything it should be that this is not an issue that the military can solve cuz the military is like a boxer, it is the best available for boxing but when it comes to changing minds, it will not do the trick. the fight is against evil intent armed with such low tech weapons as box cutting knives. we are not fighting other militaries. we need to emphasize methods that will change minds because we all know in our hearts that the only way to make our country 100% safe is to turn it into a country that would be to restrictive to want to live in.
Last week I posted a picture of vincente fox, the president of mexico, on a political board and said "who is this person?"--- all 1,362 responses incorectly labelled the person as sadamm hussein. I have asked people who agree with me and those who dont to name every country that shares a border with iraq and I have yet to get the correct answers from anyone pro or anti. It is scary how fast we are to go to war or to protest a war but slow to educate ourselves.
I am guilty of inflaming people because i want to see them really think about this stuff. people will be dying this week and it should be discussed thoroughly. now that the decisions have been made. I hope this all goes in a manner that will provide the best outcome for everyone. although i thought the path that has taken us to this point was not thought out well, we are here and for better or for worse, sadamm will now get what he has coming to him. i hope that every american soldier comes home unscathed and every innocent iraqi civilian is unharmed.
now we have some dead weeks ahead of us until springers heat up and summer steeel season so we can all relax and go back to wondering what is better purple or cerise?
ps cowlitzfisherman--- if ya need any help with the blue creek garbage shoot me an email and ill spend a day cleaning up with ya.
