I'll have to defer to my pre-guiding days .. otherwise I've got a list of sneaker rains & conditions a mile long.

I'll never forget my first experience with a "real" Forks rain!

I had quit my job and decided I ws gonna live out of my truck for awhile fishing the rivers around Forks. Back in those days, you used to be able to drive onto the bar at Tall Timbers ... so I set up camp there.

Big rains that night and I awoke about 4 AM to the river entering my tent ... I bailed off the bar as quickly as I coule and moved up onto the the top of the berm in the turnaround area. Sorta went back to sleep in the front seat of the truck and awoke a few hours later to water rushing through the parking area ...

Time to scram, round 2 smile

Headed back to Seattle with most everything I owned totally soaked with first hand knowledge of just how fast these rivers can rise when Ma Nature cuts loose.

At least I had an option to run ... I've heard several stories over the years of those that had no way out ... like the fellas on Cottonwood Bar smile
