This post is somewhat fishing related and is really a rant. Maybe because it is Sunday, I feel the need for a sermon. I also recognize that whenever anyone gives a sermon, they open themselves up to judgement. Fair enough, I am like most folks - I can see others shortcomings better than my own. I am hopeful smile that the good folks on this board will point out my own shortcomings.

I am tired of talk radio hosts and callers claiming that criticizing the President is un-American after savaging President Clinton for the last eight years (and still continuing).

I am tired of the anti-Bush folks latching on to this war in Iraq to take to the streets when their protests will have no legitimate effect on what the US does in this war.

I am tired of the labels of liberal and conservative. Most people I know (that I respect) make judgements on issues based upon the best information available rather than the political slant that they may hold. To paraphrase Dr. Martin Luther King, I look to a day when people are judged by what they do rather than the political label that they hold.

I am tired of those that talk of the importance of C & R on wild steelhead but have no problem bonking wild salmon.

I am tired of peoples need to be right, damn the facts, I know that I am right and can not admit to the possibility that I might be wrong.

I am tired of the amount of "noise" in our society. Whether that noise be advertisements, political speech, whatever. We need far less heat and far more light.

I am tired of having these thoughts run through my mind. I wish that events in this world were not running so fast.

I am tired of the rivers running too high!!! If they weren't I would be fishing.
