I have caught alot of bass at lake Washington too. Are you sure they were not stickle backs or yellow perch? I havent caught any with salmon smolt stickin out of there gullet. That seems kinda a funny since salmon smolt are small enough that you would not see there tails. Crawdads are smallmouths favorite food anyways.
