But I don't understand the correlation between animal rights activists and someone that volunteers to help support a fellow American's freedom.

I've always viewed PETA and the like as very narrow minded and bigotted. They don't seem like the kind of people that allow others to choose how they live their life - it's their way or no way. They can't open their mind enough to accept others and simply live and let live. Sort of like the KKK in my opinion. Almost like they're paranoid of something. Like someone's going to try and convert them to fishing?

I'm sure you agree that's a pretty stupid thing to be afraid of.
