So whats new? Although getting better, Puget Sound was used up until 20 years ago as a toilet for all industry, and in the seattle area they still discharge several million gallons a day of sewage and waste.
I remember as a teen (while the Everett mill was still operating) catching flounder at Pigeon creek that had tumors all over their body.
Here in Idaho, they were bragging in the paper how industry in 2002 had only discharged 72 million pounds of toxins in the water/soil/air...... I guess that is something to be proud of? I guess, since 2001 it was over 90 million pounds.... No wonder we have so much cancer, etc. these days.
