I am curious about a custom rod I have. It is made from a Clearwater #904 blank. It is 9' long and is all black. I also have another Clearwater custom rod that I use all the time. The 904 was a Father's Day gift years ago. The rod has really never been fished with for more than an hour. Every time I take it out is breaks. I have had the tip section replaced probably 5 times. This last time I took it somewhere and set it in the back of the Suburban with all the other rods. Nothing fell on it but the tip section shattered again. It has been kind of a joke sine the other 9' Clearwater rod has been through years of abuse and is still going strong except the cork which is eaten up pretty bad.

I searched the internet and can't find Clearwater. I remember it being local like on Vashon Island or something. Not in Vermont. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I suppose I could get a new tip section made to match out of some better blank that is not so prone to failing. ?? Anybody have any ideas?
