This is a silly rule that will keep some oldtimers from the only way they can fish- plunking. The answer is educating judges, who often see fishing infractions as petty and no big deal, and to raise the fine for intentional snagging to at least $1,000.00

Maybe if we got all enforcment ticket revenue to go to the WDFD they could afford enough game wardens to patrol.

Also the WDFW needs to do a better job of prioritizing. The other day my buddy and I were checked on Lake Washnigton, up by Kenmore. There were almost no other fishermen around and given the relativly wide open rules there, i.e. no limit on perch, no gear restriction, there was littel liklyhood they would find an infraction. Why weren't they out patroling known snaging locals?
