It is another example of government making "visible" cuts that enrage the public. Parks, libraries, services and alike are targeted to convince us the govt. needs mo money. They dont need mo money! To keep thier political futures strong, they need to satisfy thier special intrests. They cant very well do that if thier forced to use the available monies where they are intended. But the govt. is DIRECTLY responsible for our current budget situation. It's not in thier best intrest to run things efficiently or effectivley. What's in it for them if they do? It seems more often than not the diffrent agencies must inflate cost to avoid cuts. That's a pretty vicious cycle!

But the city of issaquah will again find a way to keep this hatchery afloat. Issaquah has marketed thier image around salmon and the hatchery is the "jewel" of that image. I think someone already knows that!

I remember the day the tabs initiative passed and Ron Simms almost cried. Damm that was a good day!
