In answer to the original question...... IF they eat them the answer can be that the indians are not always affected by the same organisms others are. It is an immunity thing. Learned that from one of my ex-wives relatives. He told me they can drink river water that would make most others sick, because they have drank it for generations and have a resistance built up... Not sure if this is a medical fact, but he slurped a lot of the river water to prove his point... Never did get sick.
If they sell them and others do not get sick. Maybe the Gov't is just over cautious with its "safe" level, or we are being duped.....
