was just down in the longview area and read n the paper were the dfw people herded up a bunch of cow elk to transfer up north to the nooksac area.these elk came from around the Mt St. helens area, an area that is closed to hunting. the state said they did this cause the area could not support that many elk and many of them die in the winter. what about limited permit hunting to thin the herd. article also talked of the stress the runup had on the elk.
