Well since my hunting season is pretty much done for now… My hunting and fishing buddy decide to head down to the Cowlitz to do a little float… I talked my Dad into going with us as he hasn’t been in my drift boat and he hasn’t caught a metal head and it has been 20+ years since he salmon fished… so off we went… We stayed at our place out by Mineral on Thursday night… it rained, it poured, it blew most of the night…

So… launch at Blue Creek hatchery…

We stopped and fished in one of favorite spots… within 5 minutes my buddy hit a metal and lost it… then what do you know… Dad hits a big metal and plays it in like a pro… a little dark… then the Old Man is on fire… he out fished both me and my buddy… he ended up with 8 steelhead… several were really large a couple of recycles…

I got one steelie in it was a bit dark for me so back it went…

Saw several silvers caught but not to many… saw a bunch of dead boots trying to out swim death but not making a lot of progess…

The day was a great success… I got to spend the a good day with my Dad… Fishing… Catching… and then he bought us all dinners at Spiffy’s in Morton… gotta love the cheeseburger basket…
