I have enjoyed the pleasure of taking my 2 1/2 year old daughter Olivia out fishing for the first time last summer, and I cant wait until next year when she is a tad older. In early July, I brought my wife and daughter out for an leisurely evening cruise south of Mukilteo and caught a 5# Coho. Olivia was so thrilled to see that daddy caught a fish, once it was in the boat flopping around on the floorboards, she was screaming with excitement! Now every time I get back from a trip with fish she spends time admiring them with me while I clean and prep them. I am glad she isn't afraid to handle them like some other children I know. She just plain likes fishies as much as her daddy.

Hopefully she doesn't lose interest, so in the future fishing is a good option for us to spend time together.
