Just wanted to talk fishing, I am some what new to this site but not new to fishing by any means. I was sitting here thinking of fishing and a specific week came to mind. All of us have a favorite place that we know we can usually go catch Steelhead. A few year's back I got to fish almost everyday that I wanted and so Monday came and I went to my favorite stream, sure enough after 2 casts into my fore sure spot I hooked into a nice fish and after a short lived fight this beauty shook me loose, and so the day went, with me hooking numerous fish, all having the same result, BOINK! So at the end of Thursday of the same week Im sitting at 0-19, with me obviously on the loosing end of almost a week's worth of fishing. I had tried everything including different hooks, leaders, and nothing seemed to work. I even went to the Old Man for some kind of wise words, and all he gave me was "Son fishing is like poker, your bound to win eventually" like that's really what I needed to hear. Being that I cant get enough of fishing,I was at it again bright and early Friday morning. Went to the same spot that I had been starting off for the last 4 days and had the same result within a few cast's, a nce bright fishy on the end of my line, oh yes and then came the shake of the head to spit the hook routine. I ended up losing 2 more fish that day bringing the total to a dissapointing 0-22 streak. Every variation and possibility of losing a fish happened to me that week, but never give up they say. I always fish the same hole that I start from at the end of my day because you never know if a few more fish have moved in while your away. This proved to be another time that this routine paid off. On my first cast through the slot I hooked into a nice chrome bright steelie about 6lbs, and after a short while had her to shore. And so ended the longest losing streak of me against the fish in all my 17yrs. of fishing. Let's hear some stories, I know some of you that have been fishing alot longer than me have got to have some stories of the ones that got away.
