Charr,
ya i was there alright. That was some bit'o'weather for a moment. We'd just dropped out of the hatchery hole when that squall hit. The hail was coming down so hard I couldn't see the chute dropping down into the Calawah. We must've looked like a couple of idiots coming in to the hole to anyone that could've seen through that stuff. All, I gotta say is thanks to Helly Hansen. After that everything was fine. But that's Forks for you.
Did you catch the two guys trying to wade across the river just below the ramp in the dark? We took off at 7:00 in complete darkness and spotted a light in the middle of the river about where the hatchery inlet is and thought it was a boat anchored up. As we passed by them we realized it was two guys just barely hanging on to each other trying to get across. I don't think they made it but I don't know how they would've made it back either. Wow.
BB75,
What Rich says. What little banking I've done required a fair amount of hiking. Having said that, I am always amazed at the number of bankers I'll see while drifting the Bog. Almost as many as there are boats. And man there's alot of boats on the weekends.

One of these seasons I won't be surprised to see one of those traffic regulator lights you see on the I-5 on-ramps at the Bogey Hatchery launch.
Well back to the Lil' Chief.
