Rockhopper, go with the ugly stick at certain places on the O.P you need a rod capable of slinging 6-8 oz of lead. I use a ugly stick lite 1186 -2H (12-30lb line) and a Ambassadeur 6600c5 mag filled with 20lb maxima chameleon.I tie a round (silver dollar) lead on a 4-5 inch dropper and rig it as a slider a 24-36 inch leader and spin n glow. I have used my Lamiglass mooching rod but had to be real careful casting it a lot of guys use eagle claw glass rods and like them, but I think overall the ugly stick is a better choice.
