Hit the Cowlitz this weekend with Daangerous Dave and Rick68 for our first attempt at Steelhead this year, side planing off the shore at Rick's cabin about a 1/2 mile below Barrier Dam. Well we hit it at the right time I guess. We went 3 for 4 on Saturday and 2 for 3 on Sunday. Brass Hotshot size 35 or 40 was the ticket. The fish weighed in at 7lbs, 7 1/2lbs, 7 1/2lbs, 11lbs and 14lbs. Every fish we landed was a Hatchery fish, the weather was excellent (for December), the fishin' good and the beer was cold!! Guess we had a good weekend. DD took some pics so hopefully we can get a couple posted soon.
