As far as weight of the jigs is concerned, I like to go as light as the flow /current will allow me to and still get down to the zone I'm targeting.

Usually I like to use 1/8 or even 1/16 ounce jigs if I can--they move around more naturally in the river than bigger jigs.

Also, you should check out Dave Vedder's recent article in the Steelhead edition of STS about fishing w/Jake and try adding that to your arsenal---I hear good things.
