I was fishing the wallace today and one of the hatchery personell told me tonight they are going to post a closure for the wallace from the hatchery to hwy 2 and Rieter. I guess they already kicked every one off of tokul creek. The reason for the closure is a hatchery down in the puyallup area has had a really bad return so they are going to supply eggs. The hatchery guy wouldn't tell me which hatchery. Why do this? The bogachiel hatchery has had a huge surplus of fish, so much that they tried to give a bunch to the Quillayute tribe and they didn't want them. Why not use the eggs to suppliment another hatchery or recycle the fish down stream? Another classic case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. beathead
