I have been looking for a bigger boat to replace my 19-fter footer for the same reasons. You can not go wrong with the sea sport but its not the boat I am going to settle on. The reasons are that I need to have a boat I can trailer but if you are looking at a 27fter then that’s not your plain. The other factor is fuel use. A boat like that is going to burn a lot of fuel. I agree that the twin out boards is the way to go. I am looking at the ACB boat http://www.acbboats.com/
Or the staibi-craft.
http://www.stabicraft.com/index.cfm/Showroom.
They are lighter and more fuel-efficient then any glass boat. Also the ride is unbelievably smooth even in the rough stuff. And top speed is around 55 mph and cruise at 38 The stabli craft is coming out with a larger boat then what you see at their site . I saw it at the boat show and loved it. Stop by the ACB factor in Bellingham or the stabicraft shop in the same area. ACB has their office at the Alaska ferry dock in Bellingham. They love to do test runs.
