There are lots of places to fish by yourself, if you don't want to join the crowds. Find the shelf along the oregon shore somewhere, look for 15 to 25 feet of water with good current, and anchor there. Generally, however, the best spots are fairly well known, and you'll see people parked there. No problem, just join the line on the outside, and watch the action. There are fish all across the river.

In the spring, you can often anchor fish all the way through the tides, no need to troll. This will depend on the tide.
