DR....I have been using parachute cord for years and I am glad to see someone else doing so. Makes so much sense..so easy to grab and lift out of the water . Halibut clip releases don't slide on it... line doesn't twist..As far as lead vs iron...I have used 15# lead for some time and haven't had the "theoretical" problems I read about. Englunds in Westport or Astoria is a good source when you're in the neighborhood.
