Good on ya' lad, but I have some hooks that already seem to function that way. Bought some Mustad dry fly salmon hooks years ago for fall steelhead fishing. I've never landed a fish on one of those flies, as the hook invariably opens up and safely releases the steelhead, saving me the hassle of actually playing the fish to near exhaustion and handling it to revive it. I didn't notice the little hinge on those hooks, but they must be there, cuz that's exactly how the darn things work.
