I appreciate the feedback guys but I have to let you know that this place is truly unbelievable. I spent 18 years commercial fishing in Kodiak and the outlying islands. I am convinced that I have literally sportfished salmon and halibut in places where no other has. I thought that I had seen it all until I fished Volcano Bay for silvers. Unmatched hospitality, scenery, and non-stop action with coho 15 to 20 lbs on spinners. All this while floating in a gin clear volcanic crater lake. We must have hooked 20 fish each in just a few hours of fishing. The next day we fished halibut. The last two world record halibut have come from boats out of Unalaska. The latest weighed in at 459 lbs. 125-150 lb fish are not uncommon. We kept two that were 130 lb twins. After spending the most fantastic fishing week I could imagine I am convinced that I had experienced a truly epic event. I promised myself that someday I would return. It sounds that that dream may again become a reality. We are setting up a trip in mid to late August. Sounds like two days chasing the monsters in the Bering Sea and a four day...yes a four day fly in trip to Volcano Bay for silvers. If you can sense the excitement you're right . As a matter of fact, I think I'm gonna bust!
