I have been up there several times, mostly in the late 80s and early 90s. AkKings is right on the accomodations - stay in the condos, your wife will especially enjoy that.

It is a great and cheap fishing trip. Never was skunked on a trip and always had a great time. We usually went up in a group from work and took over a whole charter boat. We fished exclusively with jigs then, but they worked great and I like to jig. They had a great breakfast in the morning. We usually booked a bottom fishing trip for the afternoon, which was always un and I even managed to score a nice halibut on one.

Although I haven't been up there recently, I hear it is still a good trip. The flight out there from Vancouver on a clear day is beautiful and short. Although one time we took off then had to land in Naninmo because Princess was fogged in. Then it was a three hour bus ride and we couldn't get the driver to stop for more beer - so I guess if I did have to come up with a complaint that would be it. Have a great trip!
