The reason I think it will be another crappy season for hatchery fish is the Sky, Snoqualmie summerrun smolts are already gone , there was so much predation by otters mergansers, Blue Herons and commorants in the ponds that there was very few that survived, there are a lot of large holes in the nets over the ponds , and the otters have dug under the fence . easy pickins Regardless of what the hatchery says they planted I know better, I knew the fellow who used to raise the fish at Reitor until he got injured and couldn't work there any longer . Since he left they have brought up one of the people who works for the Wallace creek hatchery and talking to him he could care less whether or not there are holes in the nets. look at last year When did they open Reitor October? reason=no fish! two years in a row prior to last year they opened that area two weeks early = reason a lot of fish . Mark hasn't worked at Reitor for three years now and I don't expect there to be another good season on the Sky or Snoqualmie till they get some one up there that gives a dam and repair the nets . I wrote to the Dept. two years ago and asked when they were going to fix the net problems and was told that was sceduled to happen in the next two weeks But of course it didn't . Oh Well I hope I am wrong .
