skywalker, your point makes sense, however in the ever changing world that is our hobby, I think that new ideas and threads are part of what make this a valuable resource. try searching the archives and look at how many things are no longer pertinent, either due to changed regulations or new improved methods etcetra. I feel that in the event it is a matter of server space, then archives which are 3-5 years old should be deleted unless they are somehow extremely worthy of staying. beginning fishermen, or people just trying to learn something new can benefit greatly from our combined knowledge. I know that I have posted questions where there was info in the archives, such as my trip to Neah bay. I did search the archives and then I asked my questions, in the end I got a lot of information that was current and pertinent to my particular situation. in this particular thread the awnser that the author was looking for was given in three or four words, where as it has taken hundreds to tell him to go hidei n the archives and then discuss the pros and cons of archive searching.
