as far a hooks go the VMC is a better hook because (VMC straight point) they BEND instead of break like the Gamakatsu hooks. Owners cutting points are the hook of choice for me. The Mustad Ultra Points are reasonably sharp but, the best attribute is their incredible finish. No eye gaps, burrs, etc, Almost as nice as Owner SSW's
