I need to replace the cable on my scotty electric downrigger. Any tricks or advice on how you replace your downrigger cable would be appreciated.
The last time I replaced cable on a downrigger it was on a cannon manual. The replacement cable I bought had the snap for the ball on the end of the spool. I unspooled the whole thing across the yard, hooked up the end to the downrigger and rolled it on. A bit of a fiasco but not bad with only 150 feet of cable. Not sure the same method will be very good with 400 feet.
