I was wondering if you have to use some sort of spin-n-glo or birdy drifter, or anything that spins with your bait, or can you use plain bait? What bait work best?

Thanks for any advice!
The answers to your questions depends on the height and color of the water. As the water get's more shallow and more clear, I would run a smaller sandshrimp and smaller spin-n-glow.

A good bet for late summer runs would be to think small at this time of year. A small sandshrimp tail and a small spin-n-glow shoujld work just fine. Use a small hook (1/0 or #1) and about a 6' leader behind the diver.

Most of the time, for summer runs, just a sandshrimp tail will suffice.
