MA13 a zipperlip? I didn't know there where any zipperlips in the Sound
MA13 is underfished and underrated for a variety of reasons- has been for about the last 20-years. (Please keep thinking that folks- makes fishing a lot easier for me.) Generally, I don't usually find too many folks out fishing until the end of July through September. The rest of the year I am generally the only one out.
I believe you are wanting a report for Squaxin?
Squaxing can be hit or miss. One day it is hot, the next day cold. Although the fish show themselves regularly, you need to keep moving to find fish here- they move quick! The fish really have nowhere to go- they scatter and move around.
Some other areas to prospect are Rocky Bay, Coulter Creek and the Nisqually Delta.
Squaxin is not a zipperlip. It has been a good fishery for a lot of people over the years. Just not a lot of folks fish it- too many other top producing areas for people to head to, i.e., Gray Harbor (now). I would even go as far to say, some of us South Sounders head north to fish for larger Silvers than hanging around down south.
Personally, I think you would good better fishing blackmouth right now. Everyone and their brother (or sister) has been fishing suspeneded for Kings and Silvers for the last couple months leaving Mr Blackmouth unscathed... Try the Chambers Creek or Green Point area. There is usually a ton of bait and fish here mid October.. I'll be out on the 13th. If the fish are still hanging around at Squaxin, I'll be trolling Wiggle Warts, spoons or large orange Spin N Glo's..
