CF,

Beyond popular belief, MA13 is a great area to fish. I spend about 85 percent of my time pursuing Blackies around various spots:

Early November is the beginning of the Sand Lance spawning. The spawning activity draws some large Blackie into MA13. I generally start fishing around Harstene Island (Dana Passage side) the first week of November and work my way to the more northern spots and the weeks progress. Don't overlook Devils Head up into Drayton Passage during this period...

Without a doubt my favorite (and most productive) spot is Green Point. Between the 7th and 20th of December is when I catch the majority of my larest fish of the year. The Sand Lance really draw the biggin's in.

If you are looking at fishing right now. try the Chamber's Creek area. This is a good starting point of early Blackies as a lot of bait is always in the area during October before spreading out throughout MA13.

Some other spots to look at are Gibson Point, Oro Bay/Cole Point on the flood tide. The Staircase area can be productive, but normally doesn't produce well until April/May time frame.
