Mid July on should be okay for pinks. We have had many 50+ fish days to the boat. Sometimes the fishing is so hot we only put out three rods because any more fish on than three is just plain crazy, especially when you have three kids 8 and under in the boat.

Herring works well, as well as trash (flasher and hootchie), but I will be trying beads, two red, two black, alternating, above a black 5/0 hook about 20" behind a flasher. Simplicity, but effective this year on kings and silvers.
