We put a Tekonsha Prodigy in our 04 version of the same truck ... been very happy with it so far. Adjust once fo the weight and you're good to go.

The '99 should have the direct hook-up just above the brake pedal so it should be a breeze to install.

Can't help you muchg with the mirrors or the camper info ... we bought ours to pull a 27' TT and the new ones have flip out mirrors for towing
