made my annual pilgramage to reiter yesterday, only fish it about once a year because of the crowds, but it is where I landed my first steelie many years ago and I feel I should go at least once a year just to pay my respects.
It was a great day on the river, no wind, no rain, not real crowded and nice water and clarity levels. Walked a ways downstream to find a little room and lost a setup on a snag after a few casts. I decided to tie on an aerodrifter that I picked up after seeing them on the board ad awhile back. Threw a little shrimp oil on her and back at it. Fished this rig for awhile (20 minutes or so) and was just about to change back to my own corkie yarn combo when I cast out and as soon as it hit the water a nice hen grabs it and its fish on! Nice little fight on on the beach she goes. Four or five cast later right at the end of my drift a 'ornery buck brat grabs it and makes a couple of runs before hitting the beach. Time from Everett driveway and back, 2 hours. \:D
Didn't see any other fish caught, but I am sure there were some.
Lots of fun to do once in awhile, but it is still hard to fish with all the folks there.
