The debates are a beauty pagent. They have some 40 pages of negotiated rules. They both give and get in the negotiations so I would not get hung up on what each one means. The bigger picture is that Bush will try nothing new as his message has been real clear from day one. Kerry will have to come up with something to define his message clearly and consiely. Bush will try and and make Kerry look unclear. Bush has more charm and people like his style.
