Maybe I'm interpreting this wrong, but from the letter it seemed that Penn was scolding someone for trying to convince people that there's "no shame in not voting" and it's okay "if you don't know what you're talking about."

Are you and Drudge saying Penn is wrong? Are you advocating that, in a democratic society - especially in a country that is trying to spread democracy 'round the world - it's okay not to vote? Is it equally okay to use the excuse that you are too ill-informed on the issues to vote?
