The Lamiglas Norwest Special has the exact same blank as the G-1000 series rods. The difference is the componets. The reel seat isn't as good as the G-1000 and the guides on the G-1000 are a step up. Plus, there is one less guide on the NW Special (9 vs. 10).

As I understand it, Lamiglas does not warranty any of their rods for abuse. That doesn't mean they won't replace it if you close your car door on the tip. They can and do, especially if you show up in Woodland with your broken rod in your hand. But they are not obligated to do so for abuse. However, they will honor their warranty, which means they will replace or repair your rod if it's damaged under normal use (e.g., casting, fighting a fish, etc).

As I read the warranty, the NW Special has a lifetime warranty like the rest of the Lamiglas rods.
