A few humpies and coho showing up at the lane seperator buoy off the spit. A long run for your small boat, Dave, unless you launch at Cline Spit or Oyster House. Watch the tides if launching there as they are shallow ramps.

You might try the east side of the Bay along the bluffs ENE of the Park. There is a trough along there that can hold some fish.

Folks have been C&R sea-run cutthroats at the mouth of the Bay. Haven't had any report of successful salmon angling inside the Bay but will keep my ears open. I'd suggest the area around John Wayne Marina - there is a big hole just outside the marina entrance. Might be a fun place to try on a slack tide, otherwise there is lots of current.

Remember there is a one rockfish limit. Some folks couldn't count last week fishing off the dock at JWM. Had a visit with the game warden.

Crabbing has been okay with some folks. The tribal pots came out on August 15 so there should be some crabs moving back in to fill the void. The deepest spot in the Bay is about 120 feet and is out from the JWM. Watch your depth finder when you set your pots.

Good luck.
