to give a testiment to the shelf life of the maxima brown. its a long story as to why brewer had a reel in the drawer with 20# maxima brown. but heres the jest to this post. the reel was broken, but had been freshly spooled with the maxima in 1987!!!. gives you an idea how long brewer keeps broken reels around. well i was going through the drawer and found the reel. and thought this line has to be brittle. put a knot in it and tried to pop it... i couldn't! wow i thought! since fall kings were about to start on the kalama, so i decided to put the old stuff to the test. landed every king that fall season with that old line. never lost a fish. thats very impressive.
