Right up my alley, guys. Seen my fair share, but lead weights hitting the eye are far more common.

His lens looks like it's toast, but the cornea looks to be very salvagable. Biggest "if" is how much damage to the retina. As trashed as that guy's eye looks, there's still a chance for visual recovery, but it will take a series of operations to get it done. I feel for him in a big way.

I had a 3 yr old patient who took a hook in the eyeball on a fishing dock as his dad went to swing for the forward cast. After a trip to my operating room and several weeks healing, the kid was back to 20/20! Amazing.... and damned lucky!
