Most tracks have numerous smaller races throughout the season, plus additional qualifying events. They also host other kinds of events for commercial purposes, like RV and boat shows. Kind of like a fairgrounds without the smelly livestock. They need an area with lots of lodging and food services within a reasonable distance.
