I never attended a lot of concerts, and attend fewer still these days. We attended the Wailers (minus Bob Marley of course) last night, and I had these thoughts. I mentioned to my GF that I must have missed the point in time when young men began behaving like 14 year old girls at concerts. Well, maybe not exactly. They don't stand at their seats screaming at the band non-stop for 2 hours like happened in the 60s. I like music. I like dancing. Swayin' with the music at a concert makes sense. But what's with the guys standing up, both arms extended in the air, and index and pinkie fingers raised, while they sway, gyrate, or otherwise move to the music? And this goes on, and on, and on . . . I kid you not.

I thought maybe they were with the gay pride groupfest or something. But that didn't add up; some of 'em appeared to be in attendance with women. So I assume they're straight, not that it matters. Is it now considered manly for 20 and 30-something guys to act like 14 year old girls at concerts? And I didn't get the flyer saying it is so . . . Anyway, I've made this observation at the last 3 concerts or so in the last couple years. Maybe I'm just older than I thought.
